East African Crude Oil Pipeline
Under ConstructionThe East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) is a 1,443 km heated and buried pipeline that will transport crude oil from the Lake Albert fields in Uganda to the port of Tanga in Tanzania — the world's longest electrically heated crude oil pipeline.

Connecting landlocked Uganda to global oil markets
A pipeline that spans two nations
EACOP is a joint venture between TotalEnergies, CNOOC, UNOC, and TPDC (Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation). The pipeline will run 1,443 km from Kabaale in Hoima District, Uganda, to the Chongoleani Peninsula near Tanga Port in Tanzania.
The pipeline is electrically heated to maintain the waxy crude oil in a liquid state throughout its journey. It will have a capacity of 216,000 barrels per day and is designed to operate for at least 25 years.
