A decade of excellence in petroleum sector management, from inception to becoming a fully-fledged national oil company.
Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC) marked a historic milestone in December 2025, celebrating ten years of driving Uganda's transformation in the petroleum sector.
Established in 2015 under the Petroleum (Exploration, Development and Production) Act, UNOC was created to manage Uganda's commercial interests in the petroleum sector.
Speaking at the anniversary celebration, Uganda's Minister of Energy and Mineral Development praised UNOC's achievements.
Among UNOC's most significant accomplishments is its role in advancing the development of Uganda's upstream oil fields in the Lake Albert basin.
UNOC has also been instrumental in the development of the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP), a 1,443-kilometre heated pipeline.
As UNOC enters its second decade, the company is focused on delivering first oil production and maximising the value of Uganda's petroleum resources.
