Partnership agreement to enhance technical capabilities and knowledge transfer in petroleum operations and management.
Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC) and Baker Hughes EHO Ltd have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on building technical capacity in Uganda's petroleum sector.
The MoU establishes a framework for cooperation across several key areas, including technical training and skills development, technology transfer, and joint research and development.
UNOC's Managing Director expressed enthusiasm about the partnership: "Baker Hughes is a world-class organisation with deep expertise across the petroleum value chain."
A central element of the MoU is a structured technical training programme that will provide UNOC engineers and technical staff with hands-on experience in advanced drilling and production technologies.
The partnership also includes provisions for technology transfer, with Baker Hughes committing to work with UNOC to develop local manufacturing and service capabilities.
The MoU is valid for an initial period of three years, with provisions for renewal by mutual agreement.
